Though it is only the beginning of March, it is soon time to start planting all sorts of goodies for the season: flowers, trees, plants, vines, and everything in between. With so many stores publicizing their springtime sales and saying that they have “the best” products, where can you go to be sure you are getting a quality product? While everyone will have a different experience, we recommend these as the best places to shop for spring planting in and around Huntsville:
1. Bennett Nursery

For flowers, there are few places better than Bennett Nursery located at 7002 Memorial Parkway in Northwest Huntsville. The biggest standout there is the collection of absolutely gorgeous roses of all kinds. They offer hybrid tea roses, climbers, floribunda, grandiflora, and shrub roses from some of the best growers in the country. Trust us when we tell you that people always leave excited about what they can do with a rose garden. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, so they will be able to direct you to a rose plant that will prosper in whatever type of yard you have.
A word of caution is that these plants are sold extremely quickly, especially between April and Mother’s Day, so your best bet is to go early for the best selection.

3. Durable Designs

If you are a little lost about what to do with your yard this coming year, consider going to someone who can help you out a little bit. Durable Designs, located in Madison, offers some of the best designs you can find, especially with stonework. Sometimes people can’t see the beauty in their yards because they are so stuck to what is there, but getting a fresh pair of eyes into your yard can really spice things up.
Contact them before you do any digging at all in your yard, because you will only be working for no reason. Some of the other work you could consider includes outdoor kitchens, a new patio, a great new deck, walkways, steps, and even a new pond.
Even if you don’t want something completely new, something small like a new fire pit can really change it all.
4. Huntsville Hardware

Even though they are still our hometown hardware store, they do custom orders for whatever you want, and can even help you out with a project idea. The staff here is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help you out. Make sure to give yourself some time to look around, as they do have quite the selection.

Parkway sells a ton of different products, but the best ones are usually their fruit giving plants, which have been taken care of meticulously.
6. Top Turf Sod Farm

While we like to think that trees are the crowning glory of a yard (and they are), we realize that they would be nothing without grass to anchor them in place. If you don’t have grass that is well manicured, healthy, and strong, then the rest of your yard can easily fall apart. Top Turf Sod Farm specializes in sod that won’t only replace your old lawn, but will make you wonder why you kept it so long.
During the springtime, our yards are the center of everything Easter Egg hunts to touch football, so make sure you do it right. Not only will they deliver the great sod, but they have installation services AND they will show you how to take care of it.
7. Rosewood Nursery
